The PS 11 School Leadership Team (SLT) believes in the ability of each and every child to reach his/her true potential within a diverse community of learners. We strongly believe in instruction that is assessment driven, and as a community, we teach our children to be actively engaged in their own academic and social learning. The SLT supports the PS 11 teaching staff who are directly involved in the children's growth as learners.
Specifically, we work collaboratively as representatives of our constituencies to create and implement PS 11's Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) -- a plan designed to fulfill the mission of improved pupil performance.
The number of parent and staff members on the team shall be four from each constituency. The total number of members shall be thirteen.
1.1 Core members of the team shall be the Principal, United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Chapter Chairperson, and the President of the PS 11 PTA, or their designees. Core members of the school leadership team have the option to designate another member of their constituent group to serve in their stead on the team for the period of their term.

1.3 The PS 11 SLT also may include a representative of a CBO. Elected members of the SLT may decide to invite a member of a CBO to join. Team members representing these organizations will not be counted in the parent to school staff balance, but will be counted in the total team member count.
Section 2 - Organization Structure and Selection of Officers

These officers are selected by consensus at the first SLT meeting each school year. Vacancies will be filled by SLT consensus.
The length of term for team members, with the exception of the core members, shall be two years, provided the team member is eligible to serve in accordance with the Chancellor's Regulation A-655. There are no term limts for elected team members.
Section 4 - Role of Chairperson
The PS 11 SLT has a chairperson plans and chairs meetings. No school supervisor serves as chairperson.
Section 5 - Role of Additional Organization Structure Members
The recorder is responsible for SLT records including attendance, minutes, bylaws and consensus agreements.
Section 6 - Role and Responsibilities of Team Members
6.1 SLT members fully support the school mission statement and in so doing, act in the best interest of the children. Members of the SLT are also expected to participate in SLT-sponsored events.
6.2 Team members, including those additional roles outlined in these bylaws are responsible for participating in the development and review of the CEP and ensuring that the budget is aligned to support the CEP;
6.3 Team members have the responsibility to: attend all team meetings; to identify concerns and issues to be discussed during SLT meetings; to review minutes and give feedback; chair and/or serve on team sub-committees; and to communicate effectively with their constituent groups.
6.4 The constituent groups on the School Leadership Team shall select their representatives for the C-30 Level I Committee subject to the manner proscribed in Chancellor's Regulation C-30.
6.5 School Leadership Team must consult with the school's Parent Association regarding the school uniform policy before taking a vote (i.e., decision to opt out of the uniform requirement).
Section 1 - Schedule of Meetings
1.1 The minimum number of monthly meetings shall be ten.
1.2 The SLT meets at least once a month during the school year, and meetings are scheduled outside of school hours. Additional meetings will be scheduled as needed either by the Chairperson or upon the request of the members of the team.
1.3 The schedule of regular meetings for the year is drawn up by consensus at the first SLT meeting of the year.
2.1 Attendance is taken at all meetings and published as part of the minutes. Members understand that absence from three SLT meetings in one year leads to dismissal from the team. If a member is not physically present for more than æ of the meeting they will be considered absent. No meeting may be held in absence of the principal, or the principal's designee.
